OUR SIGNATURE ESTATES

Our Valley

The Bogawantalawa story begins in 1869, when pioneering Scottish planters came upon a valley encircled by mist and forest, quite unlike anything they had seen before.

They found extraordinarily fertile soil, elevations from 4,000 to 6,000 feet, and micro-climates ideal for teas of rare distinction, flavour and body. It has been known ever since as the Golden Valley of Ceylon — and remains the source of every cup we make.

NORWOOD

4,708 feet

Nurtured with its own N2 cultivar through bio-dynamic, pollution-free farming, Norwood is handpicked for a mellow liquor with nutty, herbal notes. Norwood Black Tea is a signature cup — golden in hue, with a revitalising aroma.

KOTIYAGALLA

4,385 feet

A 150-year-old estate prized by pioneering Scottish planters for its rich soil and pristine leaf. Kotiyagala yields a full-bodied, reddish liquor with a coppery hue — the perfect morning refresher, taken black or with milk.

LOINORN

5,330 feet

Set beside mountain forest and the Horton Plains grasslands, Loinorn's celebrated 'Field 17' catches the easterly winds and the south-west monsoon to produce delicate, golden-amber teas with rare floral notes.
